You can obtain a fully functional 30-day trial version of Comm-Tracker by following these instructions. Please read these instructions before downloading.

1. Download: Click on the link that follows these instructions. Downloading takes 5-10 minutes depending on the speed of your connection.

2. Install: Click on the downloaded file and close all other applications. You will be prompted through several installations, each with their own installation process. The installation processes might include the .NET Framework, SQL Server and Crystal Reports depending on your computer’s configuration. During installation, accept all the defaults and click “Next” when prompted. The entire installation process takes approximately 20 minutes.

During the installation process, the name of your computer, your username and the password to the database will be output on a screen.

Please be sure to note the computer name, username and password information for later use.

3. Setup: When the installation is complete, you will need to change one line in the following file using an editor such as Notepad or Wordpad.

C:\Program Files\Comm-Tracker\sqlserver.location

In this file there is a line that says:

<name>YourServerName\sqlexpress</name>

You need to change this line so that your computer’s name replaces the phrase YourServername.

For example: If your computer’s name is pluto, the line should read:

<name>pluto\sqlexpress</name>

Save the file… It’s purpose is to tell Comm-Tracker where your database is located.

4. Get Started: Click on the desktop icon with the house and CTS. This is the icon for the Comm-Tracker System (CTS).

To log on to the system, you will have to enter the username and password that you noted earlier. Enter real information and try out reports. The Help button on the menu opens a user manual that will give you some getting started help.

This is a 30-day free trial version that is fully functional but is limited to a single user.
